The Air Squids A team finished the tournament in 7th place out of 48 teams. The first day we lost only on game to NAU in a very windy match. Then went on to win a tough windy match up against Utah Valley in order to make it into the Elite 8. We ran out of legs towards the end of the tournament but overall it was still a good showing for the younger players who had a lot of playing time at this tournament.

On the weekend of Squid Lite (AIr Squids B) went to Las Vegas, Nevada for their final tournament of Winter Quarter before they departed for spring break. After the long haul there Friday night, we woke up early to play our first game against Arizona State B and fought hard but played hard but, with some significant initial roster changes, lost with a final score of 5-10. The
second game against Colorado State B had an identical outcome as the previous game but opened our eyes at to the things that we need to do to improve. Game three against UC Davis B was when we hit our stride and lost by a single point (7-8) in a game with no breaks. With the first three games behind us, the team continued on to the second day where we lost to Cal Poly SLO B by a single point (9-10) in a well fought game where we lost focus just enough for them to take the game. The second game against UC Irvine was a fun game where the teams were evenly matched but they inched ahead at the last moment to take the game at 7-8. Our third game was delayed due to field issues, and as a result had completely different wind than the teams had been practicing in and led to a close game but another loss with a final score of 6-7. Overall, Squid Lite played well and learned a lot about themselves and their synergies with other members of the team. We now have a better idea where our weaknesses lie as we continue improving as a team.
