Tritons Win One, but Lose The Series
The Tritons fall short to UCLA in a series matchup over the weekend. Game 1 of the series was secured with a late inning rally to win give UCSD a 8-4 win to open the series. Scoring 5 runs in the 6th inning gave the tritons a lead with Tyler Geraty, Finn Daecher, Jason Cheng and Kyle young all doubling and Curtis Faletti and Frank Druggie each adding two singles to the rally. Jason, Finn and Frank would all finish 2-3 on the game to help secure the game for the Tritons. Pitching was led by Rolland Wen who would go 4 innings, striking out 5 and giving up 3 runs and 4 hits. Followed by Noah Brown and Nick Aiken, they would help secure the win for the Tritons in game 1.
Hoping to build off this momentum, the Tritons failed to get the bats going against UCLA in game 2 of the series and fell 4-0. Noah Brown and Tyler Lo would each single in the game. Ethan Adamson would get the start for the Tritons, going 3.2 innings pitched, striking out 4 and giving up two runs and two hits in the process.
After looking to bounce back and secure the series win over UCLA, the Tritons would again fall to UCLA after a 20-8 loss led by a plethora of Bruins hits. Brandon Imai and Cesar Bravo would each give two RBI’s in their at bats and Kyle Young would add two hits.
