Tritons Take Final Away Series Against Lumberjacks
Game 1 against the NAU Lumberjacks had high winds and temperatures in the forties at first pitch. Both offenses came out swinging, with the game finishing in high scoring fashion and the Tritons winning 12-7. Dylan Vargas knocked in the first run of the game in the top of the first, with a full count single up the middle. The Tritons had ten hits in the game and seven stolen bases, putting up an impressive offensive performance to support Michael Robichaux on the mound.
Game two was more lopsided than game one, with the Tritons blowing out the Lumberjacks 12-3. It was close until the fourth inning, where the Tritons plated six runs on four hits and three walks. Harrison Humberstone got the win, with five innings, one earned run, and four strikeouts.
The Tritons dropped game three 17-5, largely due to two big innings for the Lumberjacks. By the fourth inning, the Tritons were only down by one, but gave up six runs in the bottom of the fourth. While fighting to get two runs back in the fifth, the Lumberjacks didn't let up and plated eight more runs. Ethan Adamson took the loss, but the Tritons left Flagstaff winning the series two games to one.
