On Friday, 1/12, the UCSD Ice Hockey Club took on the UC Davis Aggies. The Tritons quickly took the lead 30 seconds into the first period with a goal from Stefan Jovanovic. The game remained close as Davis managed to put a goal on the board with around three minutes left in the first period off of a deflected shot towards the goal. The game then stayed tight in the second period as Dan Franke and Stefan Jovanovic both scored for the Tritons, tallies answered by  Robert Polon of the Aggies.

Tied at 3-3 going into the third period it was anyone’s game period. The deadlock was not broken until 7:43 left in the period, when Liam Jablonski scored after receiving a pass from Senior, Jeremy Fong. Less than a minute later, the Aggies answered back with a quick goal from number 88 and his second of the game. With two minutes remaining in the game Aaron Gunn scored a crucial goal to seemingly end the contest. Again though less than a minute later, number 18 from the Aggies ties the game up with his third goal of the night and a hat trick. The game if finally decided in overtime as Dan Franke scores the final goal with 48 seconds left.

The Tritons were able to come out with a good result after an exciting and hard fought match against UC Davis Aggies.
