Triton’s Dominate in a 6-0 Win Against CSU San Marcos
The Tritons went up against San Marcos, looking to keep up their 2 game winning streak since the start of the new year.
Control of the game would switch back and forth between the two teams in the first half, but UCSD managed to net two goals to take the early lead. The first goal led by an assist from Eduardo Moran gave midfielder Paul Bouige a chance to shoot the ball near the top of the 18 yard box allowing the keeper no chance of a save, putting the Tritons up 1-0. Next, our forward, Henry Rose and again Eduardo Moran linked up inside the San Marcos box for a quick wall pass ending with Eduardo finding the back of the net sending the Tritons up 2-0 into the next half.
The second half was a completely different game being entirely dominated by UCSD. After Jonny LeVine converted a penalty drawn by forward Trevor Fried, the San Marcos crew were unable to start a comeback. Exceptionally, Paul Bouige, took on an assist for forward Zachary Boender to earn a fourth UCSD goal, and later, midfielder Will Ross assisted defender Alejandro Covarrubias for goal #5. In dominant form, Paul Bouige found an opportunity for another assist, allowing Will Ross to beat a defender and chip the ball past the keeper for a sixth and final goal.
