The 2nd NSSA college surf contest was held this past weekend at Seaside Reef, Cardiff-by-the-Sea. The collegiate surfers were again blessed with above average surf conditions with waves in the 3-5 ft. range and winds staying light both Saturday and Sunday. This allowed for team members to broadcast their best abilities in the lineup making for great viewing.
UCSD placed 5th overall out of 27 college teams. This contest we saw great efforts from both the A and B team in advancing in their heats throughout the two days, with notable standouts including new-to-the-team JD Lewis and Frankie Seely for winning the Men’s and Women’s divisions respectively.
