SDSU Spring Invitational
UCSD Men’s Club Water Polo had a great and fun experience at the SDSU Spring Invitational Tournament. This offseason, six team tournament was set up into two brackets with UCSD finishing the tournament with two losses and a win.
The first game of the tournament was against the University of Arizona. The Tritons began the game with a slow start; however, after the first quarter, the lead continuously flip-flopped. Unfortunately, the team was unable to pull off a win, and the final score of the game was 8-9.
Game #2 of the tournament was scheduled against Sunset, a club team. The Tritons competed hard and had a very competitive first quarter with Sunset; however, UCSD lost momentum in the second quarter and was unable to recover. The final score of the game was 4-20.
The third and last game of the tournament was against Louisiana State University. This game was definitely a competitive one as the two teams battled back and forth, scoring many goals. UCSD got ahead in the first quarter and maintained that lead throughout the remainder of the game. The final score of the game was 12-11.
The tournament was a great way to start our Spring Break. We had a fun time playing at SDSU and was happy that everyone got substantial playing time.
