SDSU Invitational 2022
The SDSU Invitational was a success! Ensuring playing-time to promote fun and team bonding came first over winning. However, this didn’t stop our team from pulling off victories in competitive games. The invitational was set-up in a Round Robin fashion, where every participating team played one another.
Our first matchup of the invitational was against SDSU’s B team. The match started off slow, but as the game progressed our lead against SDSU’s B team grew. The final score was 13-5.
Our second game of the invitational was against UCSB. The score was close throughout the four quarters of the game. Unfortunately, we were edged out in the last quarter. The game concluded with a score of 4-5.
We faced off against UCLA in our third game of the invitational. We were down 2-4 to start the second half, but our team pulled through, scoring three unanswered goals. One of these goals was made by Ansul Devnani, who shot two for two in the game. The game concluded with a score of 5-4.
Our fourth and final game of the invitational was against SDSU’s A team, our regional rival. The game was a low scoring, heavily defensive game. Our team pulled ahead at the end. The final score was 5-4.
We finished the invitational with a 3-1 record. The invitational was essential for our players to work out kinks in their individual and team games. Moving forward, we aim to continue having fun, hone in our skills, and develop a team capable of attaining a national championship.
