The Badminton preseason tournament was held by UCSD for all the schools in the Southern California Collegiate Badminton League (SCCBL). Each school sent up to 3 representatives in each event. The format of the tournament was single elimination with a consolation bracket for those that lost their first match.

UCSD hosted this SCCBL preseason tournament for the first time since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic. UCSD had participants in every event. Freshman Aaron Li made it to quarterfinals for mens singles before losing to Benson Ni from USC. Sophomore Justin Wang and Senior Austin Tsang faced off in consolation mens singles with Justin Wang coming out on top. In mens doubles Junior Eric Mei and Freshman Hung Ho made it to semifinals before losing to Nirmit Shetty and Leo Cheng from UCI. In mixed doubles Junior Benjamin Ryujin and Junior Kaia To made it to finals. Unfortunately they lost to Jay Chea and Amanda Trinh from CSULB. Freshman pair Jessica Qu and Faline Le faced off against fellow Freshman pair Ragalina Palaka and Allison Huang in quarterfinals for womens doubles with Ragalina and Allison coming out on top. Unfortunately Ragalina and Allison would lose in the finals to Emmery Chang and Crystal Yang from UCR.
