Sailing team battles a turning tide at the north designate regatta
The UC San Diego Sailing Team took on North Designate Regatta at Cal Maritime Academy this past weekend. Our Triton sailors finished extremely well in the regatta, which is the qualifier for The Pacific Coast Championship that will take place next weekend. Our sailors managed to sail high and fast in the tricky wind and current conditions. The hard work on the course was awarded with consistent strong finishes. Overall, Triton sailors finished in fifth place with a fleet of 17 boats. Both A and B division sailors took 2nd place by a substantial lead. On Saturday, after a day of intensive racing, the team went on a scenic sunset sail under the Golden Gate Bridge. “Gnarly.” - Nick Dorn
