Rivalry Game vs SDSU Ends in frustrating 0-0 Tie
The Tritons played against SDSU in their second spring league game. UCSD had previously beaten the Aztecs 2-1 earlier in the school year. However, the Tritons struggled to create good opportunities on goal, despite having possession for the majority of the game. UCSD’s best chance all game came after the Aztec defense lost the ball dangerously close to their own goal, and midfielder William Ross had a good chance of scoring. Unfortunately, his shot went just wide of the goal.
In the second half, the Tritons dominated the possession, with the ball barely leaving SDSU’s half of the field. The Tritons were not able to break open SDSU’s defense, and after repeated attempts to score, the game ended in a 0-0 tie.
UCSD looks to bounce back in their next league game against USD.
