The USCSA Southwest and Norcal schools faced off in Far West Regionals this President’s Day weekend, and we had all sorts of weather up in Mammoth. On Saturday our riders had a nice sunny day to compete in Slopestyle and Giant Slalom. On Sunday, however, winds picked up and visibility dropped, so Slalom was cancelled for skiers and boarders. Our league volunteers did their best to run Rail Jam, but the wind blew away all of the score sheets, so that event was cancelled too. Soon after, every lift on the mountain shut down due to extreme weather conditions. We were disappointed we didn’t get to compete more, but Monday made up for it with calm winds, lightly cloudy skies, and 4 inches of fresh powder!
