    Pamona Sweethearts

Squid LITE put up a solid performance at Pomona Sweethearts this weekend, with a final record of 3-2. The Squids started off the day against the SDSU Federales and came out strong, with great momentum and a five point lead after the first half. The Federales found their rhythm after halftime, taking the second half with a three point lead, but the Squids’ lead from the first half secured an 8-6 victory.

Game two was against the Pomona Cows. The Squids were lacking in communication and energy this game, resulting in an unfortunate loss and a final score of 5-12. The third game was a close one against Clairemont’s Braineaters. The Squids came out of half with a 3 point lead, but ended up losing universe point 9-8. These losses served as reminders to play with tenacity and energy for the rest of the day.

Game four against the USD Flat Tax Ballers was another nailbiter. After some long back-and-forth points, the hard cap came in time to secure a 6-5 victory. In the fifth and final game against the Fullerton Phantoms, Squid LITE’s team chemistry and their abundance of energetic players allowed them to score many back-to-back break points. Through listening to their coaches’ advice, the squids managed to end up winning their final game 10-6 right after the Hard Cap horn went off.

After a full day of matches, the squids went home with high morale, knowing that they gained experience and improved through the help of their teammates, coaches, and spectators. After some unfortunate losses, the Squids were determined to finish the day with 2 wins, and they succeeded.
