All four of our girl short boarders made it past the first round. Kalohe Danbara fell out in the repechage but Makena Burke made it to the final and won by 0.1. This is Makena's second consecutive state title as a second year at UCSD. On the men's shortboard side, Noah Brown fought his way through the fierce competition all the way to the semi-finals. This is one of the best individual results for the men's shortboard division we've had all year! Finally, Trent Webster's remained consistent and placed fourth in the longboard final, earning some valuable points for the team. Unfortunately, the team did not place in the top four overall rankings. We plan to use the upcoming spring quarter to recharge, work on our surfing, and get ready for Nationals.
