UCSD traveled to their hometown rivals to play a friendly but competitive postseason match. Determined to avenge their last result against USD, the Tritons played with the intention to dominate. The match started off strong in UCSD's favor, owning most of the game in terms of defense, possession and attack opportunities. Their performance paid off, as the Tritons got on the scoreboard first. The rocket of a shot was scored by Senior Midfielder Daniel Sanchez-Cruz, assisted by Senior Midfielder Kody Harris. The first half continued to stay in the Triton's favor, finishing 1-0. The second half started on a sour note, as USD won and converted a penalty kick in the first 2 minutes, leveling the game at 1-1. From there, both teams played hard, with the intent to bag more goals into the net; however, the game remained at a stalemate for the time that was left, finishing 1-1. As this was the last competition for the Tritons in 2019, the team looks to prepare for their upcoming winter season.
