An Arizona Weekend

 

The Lady Tritons come into the weekend of week 9 with a double header against University of Arizona and Arizona State University. Their first game of the weekend was against UofA. They started the half strong with Teigan Macdonald scoring a try in the first 6 minutes. The Tritons kept up the pace and scored 9 more trys in the first half of the game. After being scoreless in the first half, University of Arizona came back and scored four trys. The final score was UC San Diego 70 – UofA 26.

 

On Sunday, the Lady Tritons had another strong start to the game with McKenzie Bolden scoring the first try of the game in the first 7 minutes. During the first half, the Tritons scored 3 more trys keeping ASU scoreless. After halftime, ASU rallied and made 2 trys making the final score UCSD 32- ASU 14.

 

The UC San Diego Lady Tritons are 9-0 for league play and are the number one seed for the PMRC South division playoffs. Come support the UC San Diego Women’s Rugby team on 3/26 when they play UC Berkeley to move on to USA Rugby Regional Playoffs.
