In their second away game of the weekend, UCSD faced up against UCR, whom they beat 5-0 in the Director’s Cup final last year.

Forward Paul Jasper would kick off the scoring with 2 goals in the first 15 minutes of the half. UCR, however, slipped one past goalkeeper Ricardo Di Cato to put themselves back in the game. After a chippy first half, the score remained 2-1 Tritons.

In the second half, beautiful combination play from William Ross and Kalani Takamura would result in a goal from striker Henry Rose. UCSD would not stop there as midfielder Joey Asfari and fullback Michael Korelov both netted themselves well placed goals for the Tritons to go up 5-1. UCR would score a second goal from a header but the game was too far out of reach for anything else to come from it. Final score: 5-2 Tritons

With this win, the Tritons advanced to 4 wins and 1 tie in league which proved to be more than enough to lock themselves in the Regionals Tournament in San Luis Obispo.
