The UCSD Triathlon team drove up to Lake Lopez in San Luis Obispo for this year's March Triathlon Series. In this conference competition race, the women's team got 2nd place and the men's team got 3rd place. For some members it was their 8th time participating in this race and for some members it was their first triathlon. The course started with a 2 lap swim in Lake Lopez, totaling a little over 1500 meters, then a 24 mile bike ride through the mountains, and finished with a 6 mile out and back run. Beril Polat pulled a 3rd place finish in the triathlon, and other members saw notable improvements from their previous races. Everyone successfully finished the race and showed their effort and dedication to training, which was reflected in the team scores. The weekend was successful and the team looks forward to racing again at Lake Lopez.
