Fighting for their third championship title, the Tritons faced off against the Santa Barbara Gauchos. The game began with a majority of the possessions kept by UCSD and  led to several attempts on goal. Unfortunately, these attempts were countered by the UCSB defense leading to a scoreless game at half time. The second half of the game was also of high intensity on both sides. The pouring rain only added to this as the ball continued to be fought for by both teams. Following a UCSB foul in their own circle, UCSD was awarded a short corner. Head coach, Amanda Warford called out a specific play which was executed perfectly by the Tritons Samantha Brinton and Alberto Montilla, leading to the final score of 1-0. Though the Gauchos fought a hard game, the Tritons were able to maintain their win leading to their title of three-peat champions.
