Big Win for Tritons against Long Beach
Coming off of a disappointing tie vs San Marcos in their previous, the Tritons were fired up against Long Beach. The field was the worst field the team had played on in recent years, but the Tritons still managed to pull off a 3-1 victory.
In the first half, with possession slightly in favor of the Tritons, UCSD would find themselves good chances to score but couldn’t seem to put it in the back of the net. Long Beach would get a triplet of corner kicks, but also failed to score.
The second half proved more exciting, as fullback Koosha Jadbabaei drew a foul in the box for midfielder William Ross to score a PK. Within minutes, Long Beach would fire back with a goal of their own after catching the Tritons off guard with a well performed counter attack. However, Beach’s one goal would not be enough to keep them in the game as a pair of deflected goals from midfielder Lucas Venetoulias and Koosha Jadbabaei would secure a 3-1 win for the Tritons.
