The season starts for the Tritons against Azusa Pacific University. The game started with the Tritons being aggressive against APU until the Tritons were in their territory. APU tried fighting back but a penalty against them let the Tritons go for a kick at the goal. Sadly, the Tritons missed but Michael Andrews was able to recover the ball and score the first try of the game. The Tritons converted and started with the lead. With the lead, APU striked back with two tries of their own but were unable to convert them. The Tritons needed to get back in the game scored again with Sean Martinez scoring for the Tritons and Ryan Callahan converting again to pat the lead for the Tritons.
In the second, the Tritons were in the lead and tried to keep it. They were able to make another score in and raise the lead to a 21-10 point difference. APU came back with two consecutive scores and conversions to retake the lead and make the score 21-24. The Tritons, needed to come back and took every opportunity to take points and match up against APU so they took a kick against APU to tie the points 24-24. The Tritons tried to make a last-ditch effort to take the lead but was stopped in their final drive. The Tritons started the season with a tie against APU but they still need more to go. They have their next game against PLNU at home and they are working towards a season with no losses and hopefully win the league.
