Another Win for UCSD vs Orange County FC

UCSD Women’s Club Soccer faced off this weekend against Orange County FC on Orange County’s home field. It was an especially windy day which provided an extra challenge. The first half started off a bit rocky as the players got used to the conditions, but soon UCSD gained control of the game, keeping possession and giving themselves lots of opportunities on goal. The first goal came from a beautiful assist from Sarah Aguilar, playing the ball to Madeline Woo for the goal. After continuing to keep possession and getting more chances, the second goal came for UCSD. After a blocked shot from Aoife Noonan, Reese Flinn collected the ball in the box, turned on her left foot, and played a low-driven ball into the corner of the net. “Bangers only,” she says.

The second half looked similar to the first, with UCSD dominating the game and working hard to get chances and shots on goal. After multiple chances from players like Naomi Araujo and Veronica (Roni) Yonce, and even a shot from the center back, Allie Spong, Madeline Woo finally got the ball in the back of the net, locking in the final score of 3-0.
