4/26/25 - Rain, sun, and everything in between at this years Anteater Regatta
Our team drove up at the crack of dawn on Saturday, only to encounter some hard rain when we got near the venue. We were drenched before we even got our boats in the water.
After launching, racing was delayed for about 20 minutes due to rain and unpredictable conditions, so A fleet was left circling the race committee boats out in the rain. Conditions cleared fairly quickly, and racing started as the sun came out. The wind was just about perfect, 10-15 knots. Each rotation did 4 races, before we wrapped up for the day. Stella and Emma got a first place finish in a race Saturday (in the varsity fleet!)
For Sunday, the sunny conditions held out, and we had a good day of racing, albeit with a little less wind than Saturday. Our team didn't sail quite as well as we did Saturday, but still had some good races and a good time out on the water.
Irvine is a team favorite every year, so everyone left Sunday evening with smiles.
