UCSD Sailing Kicks Off Season on SF Bay
Some of our amazing sailors set sail on the seven seas once again at the beautiful Stoney Burke regatta hosted by UC Berkeley at the Treasure Island Sailing Center. Weather remained in the low 70s with sunny skies and a somewhat helpful wind advisory towards the end of Saturday (making for some speedy boats). Sailors were stoked to get out on the water after 18 months of no competition. UCSD's varsity boat finished 6th out of 15, an impressive result for the first regatta of the year. However the highlight of the weekend was the performance of our lady sailors, who finished 2nd overall! Coed JV A finished 7th overall, and Coed JV B finished 10th overall. All in all, UCSD sailing was stoked to get a chance to race in a collegiate regatta again and gives a big thank you to UC Berkeley for hosting! We are excited to host Frosh-Soph in a couple of weeks and excited for the upcoming year!
