The Tritons took on UC Riverside in a evenly matched friendly. UCSD showed early that they were the dominant team in possession, and controlled the ball for majority of the game. Midway through the first half, Riverside would find a lofted ball over the Tritons defense that would end with a goal and UCSD going down 0-1. In the second half, UCR earned themselves a penalty after dribbling past a couple of Triton defenders, which would be calmly converted as UCR went up 2-0. Although dominating possession, the Tritons offense once again struggled to create good opportunities to score, and the score remained 2-0 UCR for the remainder of the game.
