UCSD Dominates in Must Win Game Against Westcliff
The Tritons were looking for revenge in their second game of the weekend after USD had snatched a victory from them. From the very beginning UCSD was all over Westcliff, winning balls defensively and possessing the ball calmly around Westcliff defenders. Their composure was quickly rewarded as Yanis Chenna assisted midfielder Will Ross to put the Tritons up 1-0 in the first half. UCSD’s control of the game continued into the second half, where a brilliant flash of team passing would culminate in Paul Jasper connecting with Yanis Chenna to extend their lead to 2-0. To lock the game away, defender Michael Korelov would go on a deep solo dribble beginning from his own half, slicing and dicing defenders and then coolly placing the ball into the back of the net. The three goals along with a defensive clean sheet would cap off the game in a 3-0 win for the Tritons.
