Tritons Come Out on Top Over Cal State University, San Marcos
UCSD played very well in their 2-1 win against CSUSM. The only goal of the first half came as Cooper Ward hit a beauty into the upper right corner off a pass from forward Zach Boender. UCSD was in control for the majority of the second half, and found themselves up 2-0 after Eduardo Moran finished a perfect cross from Boender, giving him his second assist of the game. The Triton defense looked slightly shaky towards the end of the game, and San Marcos slipped a goal past goalkeeper Trevor Fried, who fought off many other attempted goals. However, CSUSM’s one successful goal was not enough to complete a comeback, as the Tritons finished on top 2-1.
