3/8/25 - UnBEARebly Big Whoop-Dee-Doo
The UCSD Club Gymnastics is back at it again with yet another competition! This time, the team attended the UnBEARebly Big Whoop-dee-doo hosted by UC Berkeley Club Gymnastics. We had an amazing 10 athletes compete at this meet, and the biggest highlight of all is that every member of the team received at least one medal. Beyond that fantastic highlight, there are a lot of individual accomplishments worth mentioning.
For our Xcel Silver gymnasts, Nyla Janmohamed placed third on vault and floor, and she also placed second in the all-around. Joey Ransdell placed third on bars and all-around and placed first on beam. Way to go, silvers!
Within the Xcel Platinum level, the most notable highlights are Sydney Kundert placing in every event, but specifically, taking home second place on beam and third in the all-around. Next, Roxanne Mayali swept the podium, placing first in all five event categories! This is definitely not an easy task to do, yet Roxanne makes it look so easy.
The Xcel Diamonds also have many accomplishments to be proud of! There were an impressive number of ties within this group as Victoria Paulo and Liliana Echevarria tied for third on vault, and Mia Roe and Victoria Paulo tied for first on floor! Another shoutout goes to Kayla Phillips, who placed second on beam.
The Level 9s also had an outstanding competition as Sarah Mackey placed fourth in the all-around, third on floor, and second on vault. Raina Eghbalyans did not come to play at this meet since she placed first on vault, floor, and the all-around!
We had a few MAG competitors as well, where Mia Roe and Victoria Paulo took home second and first place, respectively, on the pommel horse. Raina Eghbalyans also took home a nice second place medal on the rings. Overall, the team not only did so amazingly well at this meet in terms of meddling, but they also had so much fun! A lot of great skills were shown, and a lot of new memories were made. This marks the last competition the team has that is hosted by other club teams, and it was the perfect way to get the last finishing touches done on routines. Now, the only competition left to attend is Nationals, and the team is looking beyond ready!
