3/19-3/25/24 - UC San Diego at NCAA Tournament in Houston

    UCSD vs Drexel University

UCSD won the toss and elected to bat first. After losing both their openers in the first over itself, UCSD found themselves in a vulnerable position. But, Abhishek and Parth batted exceptionally well keeping the run rate above par. However, toward the end UCSD lost too many wickets and fell short of 10-15 runs. The Drexel batters comfortably chased down 90 in 10 overs due to below average bowling and fielding by UCSD. UCSD lost by 8 wickets.

    UCSD vs Arizona State University

ASU won the toss and elected to bowl first. UCSD were off to a good start with Himanshu scoring some boundaries. However, after losing a couple of wickets UCSD slowed down terribly in the middle. Vishnu (29 off 14) and Gautam’s (12 0ff 8) partnership of 41 off 19 helped UCSD reach a respectable total. The UCSD bowlers fought valiantly till the 8th over; however, ASU chased it down due to 2 substandard overs from UCSD. These were tough losses at nationals considering UCSD’s dream run in the previous season.
