3 - 1 Home Field Victory Against CSU San Marcos
To start off the busy soccer weekend, UCSD Women’s Club Soccer fought hard to come out of Saturday's game with a 3 - 1 win against CSUSM. Even though the field was not in the best state, and players were tripping over literal groundhogs, UCSD was able to control most of the game, working off of each other as they remained in CSUSM’s defending half. The first goal was scored in the first half by Elayna Osterman. She battled in the midfield against one of CSU’s players (and won) and shot the ball from far out of the 18 for it to slide in just above the goalie’s hands. CSUSM managed to sneak in a point in the half from a corner on one of their only shots on goal. But that’s okay, because both Roni Yonce and again Elayna Osterman contributed two more goals in the second half, leading the team to a 3 - 1 victory.
