    Where Are Our Brooms???

The UCSD-Gold women's club volleyball team traveled to CSU Long Beach this weekend for their first league tournament of the season. After not doing so hot at the MLK invitational in January, they had an unstoppable fire of revenge burning inside that led them to be undefeated. Playing Occidental College from LA first, they powered through the tiredness and cold muscles in the first game and by the second game, when they were all warmed up and firing on all cylinders, ended up crushing them with a score of 25 to 4. After, with the adrenaline of the win still coursing through their veins, they took on the University of Redlands, again beating them with unbelievable efficiency- Lexi Zieler and Stephanie Kwan putting in that WORK in the back row, especially.

Finally, for the third and final match of the day, the Gold diggers took on Claremont McKenna College, carrying the momentum of the previous wins straight to another victory. Claremont gave them a good fight, but they were still no match for the Gold diggers’ savagery, and ended up getting absolutely pounded in the second game, 25 to 8. To celebrate the sweep, the team went for lunch at Uncle Fung Borneo Eatery (not sponsored but could be) per Kyra Hennessey’s request and thoroughly grubbed out on some bomb Indonesian/Malaysian food. All in all, it was a great day to be a Gold digger.
