    UCSD vs UCLA

For our last away game this season we traveled to Los Angeles to play UCLA. Unfortunately, the final score was 34-17 to UCLA for our 3rd loss this season. Continuing to keep up our morale, we hope to finish off the season with a good game next weekend against GCU. Kickoff began with us on the receiving end, however we were quickly forced into a defensive game. UCLA made a quick try in the first 5 minutes, but we worked on setting the pace and continuing to play the game that we know. Following two tries by UCLA, we had our own first try by Aoife Noonan (#11). Unbelievable run by #11, making a phenomenal break through the defense. Conversion was made by Claire Fetros, bringing us just one try behind. Keeping our morale up after falling behind by another 3 tries, we continued to fight hard and ended up with some great turnovers in possession. UCLA had a slippery offense, but we kept up the positive energy. We continued to remain optimistic and scored two more tries at the end of the second half, the first by Claudia Melkonian (#2) and the second by Isabella (Bella) Cobarruvias (#13).

Once again, every game is a learning opportunity and we have new things to work on at practice.

    Tries:
