Lady Tritons End Their Season With Huge Win!
For the last game of the 2020 regular season, the UCSD Lady Tritons were thrilled to play on their field one more time against the Fullerton College Hornets. They knew that to be considered for playoffs, they had to win with a large point differential. They were hungry to extend their season and it was evident from the second they stepped onto the field.
Within the first minute of the game, Senior Nicole Goodwin put a goal up on the board. In her final season, she was driven to achieve the ultimate goal of reaching the playoffs for the first time. This was evident as she caused numerous turnovers and scored a total of 6 goals. Senior Kendra Shae Ziegler was the powerhouse of the midfielders and took the draw for a majority of the game. Ziegler was able to control most draws with the aid of Senior Jiyoung Yun. Yun dodged defenders left and right, getting numerous assists. Other leading scorers for the Fullerton game were Freshman Ellen Jurgens (4 goals) and Freshman Gillian Husovsky (3 goals).
The Lady Tritons came out with a 18-1 win against the Fullerton College Hornets. Overall, the Lady Tritons have worked hard this 2020 season coming out with a 9-1 record, putting them in a good position to qualify for playoffs. All that is left is to wait for the bid for playoffs!
