    SCVVL North-South Crossover

This last weekend saw our A team come off to a strong start in Santa Barbara during the crossover tournament with the SCVVL Division 1 North teams. After a fun night of team bonding at Santa Barbara resident Curren Malhotra’s house, our A team came into the UCSB Thunderdome on Sunday morning ready to take care of business. We started off in a tough match against a scrappy CSUN-A team, but swiftly took care of them in two close sets. Next up, after a small break, we played a heated match against UCLA-A, where second-year pin hitter Jason Lee led the team from the serving line to a tight win in the first set. With the wind at our backs after the first set, we quickly took care of business in the second, holding UCLA to the teens. Immediately after, we faced off against USC-A in a difficult match that we won in three sets. After three very intense matches, the day ended in an unexpected 0-2 loss against UCSB-A. Looking forward, both teams prepare to face off against the other south division teams here at home, working hard in the meantime to get ready for nationals in the Spring.
