    Claremont Ultimate Classic

This past weekend, the men's Ultimate Frisbee B team (Air Squids) competed in the 2nd Annual Claremont Ultimate Classic at Claremont McKenna College. This tournament was a small one, only consisting of a total of six teams. The Squids started the tournament by facing off against Occidental College. Being the Squids' first game, they had a slow start and allowed Occidental to accumulate a lead. After the half, the Squids found their rhythm and began to catch up, but the lead Occidental College had was too much, leading to a defeat. The next game they played was against Cal State Long Beach, where we took a commanding lead in the first half and held onto it to the second, leading to a decisive victory. Following this match, the Squids faced off against the B team of UCLA. UCLA came into the game strong, catching the Squids off-guard after their past two slower-paced games. However, the Squids fought back and did not lose without a fight, ending the tournament with a 1-2 record. Although the Air Squids were unable to advance into the winner's bracket, they still held their heads high, using what they learned in this tournament to improve for the upcoming tournament in Irvine.
