    Tritons Dominate in Season Opener

Triton Lacrosse came out swinging with a Season Opener win against CSU Channel Islands. The Tritons won 17-0, despite traveling to enemy territory. The offense was led by Rookie Matt “Shibbey” Mryham with 5 goals and the veteran leadership of Grant “Rocket” Barclay and Nolan “Cornhole” Harris. All told, 9 Triton players scored goals, a testament to the unselfish nature of the team.

The Triton defense, who pitched a dominant shut out, received ample help from Senior Goalie Justin Norton who saved all 5 shots that came his way. Several other notable performances included Senior Caption Matteo Liebman, who shut down Channel Islands top scorer, and Daniel “Whiter than White” Kubeck, who is becoming a dominant force in his sophomore year.

The Tritons now look to the Claremont Cougars, who recently lost a close game against LMU in overtime. This game could have important implications for playoffs and national rankings. To prepare, the Tritons are focusing on getting healthy from their last game, and continuing to improve every day in practice.
