For their second competition of the year, the UCSD Dancesport team took to UC Santa Barbra to attend their annual Beach Ball. With this competition came more competitors, more dancing, and more awards! UCSD couples faced off against other hard-working student dancers from other colleges including UCLA, USC, Cal Poly, and, of course, UCSB. However, UCSD couples trained diligently, honing their skills and techniques on the four styles they have learned so far this year: waltz, tango, cha cha, and rumba, among other styles known by returning members. As a result, almost everyone on the team returned home with ribbons ranking at least the finalist level to show for their efforts. Having a taste of victory, the UCSD Dancesport Team are turning their sights to next quarter’s competitions, hungry for more.
