The team had a productive weekend in Santa Cruz with ideal weather and water conditions. Despite challenging high tides on Sunday morning, the waves were a fun 3-4 feet. The boys shortboard surfed on Saturday, with Noah Brown making it the furthest, to the quarter-finals. Sunday saw smaller waves, but both A team girls Makena and Maddie performed strongly and both made the semi-finals. Overall, the team finished 8th, aiming to improve for the upcoming state championships in Huntington Beach next weekend.
