The UCSD Equestrian Team had a fun and successful weekend in sunny Gilbert Arizona at the ASU show! Competing against ASU, U of A, UCLA, Cal Poly Pomona, and USC our riders had amazing results! In the Open division, Alexis Azarian got 5th on Saturday and Sunday over fences and 1st on Saturday and 4th on Sunday on the flat. In Intermediate, Jordan Green placed 5th and 6th over fences and secured 4th and 1st place on the flat! Also in Intermediate, Francesca Calamari got 3rd over fences on Sunday. In the Limit division, Amelia Lohrenz secured 4th over fences, and 5th on Saturday and 2nd on Sunday on the flat. Liza Beltyukova also put in some amazing rounds in Limit on Saturday! In Novice, Erica Nash got 3rd place and Gabrielle Shapiro got 5th on Saturday and 1st on Sunday in her first time competing in a higher division! Julia Song rode beautifully in Novice on Saturday as well. Overall, the team had a great weekend with many ribbons to take home! We are so grateful to ASU for hosting such a fun show and our amazing coaches for keeping us show-ready!
