The Tritons woke up early ready to compete against the Wildcats. While University of Arizona led the game after each quarter, the Tritons fought back and maintained a close game. Unfortunately, the Wildcats were able to capitalize on the Tritons’ mistakes and possess the ball for most of the game. Despite the lengthy Wildcat possessions, the Triton defense had a strong performance throughout the game. They successfully defended a possesion in which four yellow cards put them down 4 players. Goalies Kiara Young and Kate Shanley were the backbones of the defense, each having a ~60% save rate. Goal scorers for the Tritons were Naomi Lee with 2, and Nikki Shin, Heather Hirsch, and Sabrina Forbes with 1. Though the games didn’t go as hoped, the Tritons had a blast in Arizona, learning a lot and making lots of team memories.
