2/16/24 - Tritons Travel to Denver for the Rocky Mountain Rumble

UCSD beat #10 ranked Missouri State to start off the Rocky Mountain Rumble tournament 1-0. Freshman Jackson Edwards had 4 goals, including the eventual game winning goal assisted by Junior Austin Ortel. Noah Skinner and Santiago Zachman scored huge goals in the 4th quarter to give the Tritons momentum. The Defense played a very solid game with the help of Junior goalie Jarret Smith. It was a great start to the season for the Tritons.

UCSD took down #16 ranked NDSU in their second game of the Rocky Mountain Rumble in Colorado. Junior Attackman Alex Franz scored the game winning goal in overtime off an impressive full-field assist from Goalie and fellow junior Jarret Smith. Additionally, Smith saved 82% of all shots that day, earning him a nomination for Pearl Goalie of the Week.

In their third game of the Rocky Mountain Rumble, the Tritons battled the Bobcats in an early morning contest. This puts UCSD at 2-1 on the season. The Tritons battled early as it was 4-2 after the first thanks to a tough defensive effort and a spectacular diving goal by junior attackman Alex Franz. Later in the game many Tritons saw their first minutes of the season as freshman d-middie Bato Euol had an immediate impact. The Tritons look to bounce back with a win against Claremont next Saturday, February 24th.
