2/10/24 - Tritons Face the Desert Cold

The Tritons walked on the field of University of Arizona bright and early in 40 degree weather. As the game started, UofA kicked off to the Tritons and the match was even with quick hands through both forward and back lines with Tritons carrying position. U of A had solid scrums and were able to kick it out of their side but with full back Nikole Kron catching the kicks, the Tritons were persistent on driving in. As the match went on U of A was able to slip by and score a try making the game 0-5. UofA took back possession after receiving the next kick off but as they attempted to score another try the Tritons used their “hit the beach” play and fenced the opposing players out regaining possession. The second half began and Brittney Quezada-Sanchez had quick breakaways giving Tritons yards on the field. Following the first half, UofA slipped away again with the score being 0-12. As the game was coming to an end Tritons stayed strong with great hands from Sarah Overington and Chantal Earl and take downs by Mackenzie Caldwell. The 80 minutes went by, the final score was 0-12 with the sun peaking out at the end.
