Club Swim hosted their annual Winter Triton Invitational, with this year being the 6th edition of the competition. On the occasion of celebrating the 10th anniversary since the founding of UCSD Club Swim, the team put on an absolute show, winning the meet with a combined total of 1,567.50 points, finishing well ahead of Swim Club at Berkeley (1,098 points) and UCLA Club Swimming (1059.50), who rounded out the top 3.

 

The depth of the team this year was once again on display. Here were some highlights of the relays: 

 

Women’s 200 Yard Medley Relay A and B placed in the top 5, with the A team winning by 1.5 seconds over Swim Club at Berkeley. 

Men’s 200 Yard Medley Relay A, B, and C placed in the top 5, finishing 2nd, 3rd, and 5th respectively. 

Women’s 400 Yard Freestyle Relay A, B, and C placed once again in the top 5, finishing 3rd-5th. 

Men’s 400 Yard Freestyle Relay A and B placed in the top 5 as well, with the A team winning the event by 2 seconds, ahead of Club Swim Team at UCSB. 

 

Individually, there were many outstanding swims, with 4 team records being set: 

 

Women's 200 Fly - Madison Tran 2:21.20, 2nd place 

Women's 200 IM - Erin Swift 2:15.66, 1st place 

Women's 400 IM - Katherine Wu 5:14.27, 3rd place

Men's 400 IM - Itay Ben Yoseph 4:19.39, 3rd place

This meet was an amazing performance by the team, and each swimmer is training hard for Nationals in April! Up next, ASU on February 17th!
