2/1/25 - UCSD Tritons vs. UCSB Gauchos

It was a beautiful and sunny day for the Tritons to host their home opener for the 24/25 season, and the Tritons were ecstatic to get out on the field and play against the Gauchos. The Gauchos had a fiery start, whereas the Tritons took a bit longer to build up their momentum as it was their first game together. The Gauchos were leading 11-2, but in the Fourth quarter, the Tritons picked it up and scored 4 goals while the Gauchos were only able to put 1 in – bringing the final score to 12-6. During this matchup, the Tritons demonstrated teamwork and determination, highlighting the team's resilience and areas for growth as they continue their season. Goal scorers for the Tritons were Sabrina Forbes with 2, Destiny Lewis, Kayla Tracy, Megan Choe, and Christina Keung. The defense held their ground against the strong Gaucho attackers; defenders Savannah Kezmoh and Brooklyn Nguyen were vital assets on the defensive end in protecting their home goal from the Gaucho attackers. Though the Tritons did not come out with a win, they are confident they can learn from the mistakes made in this game and focus on strengthening their play in preparation for the rest of their season.
