D-1 SoCal Sectionals

Going in to the tournament as the number one seed, UCSD expected to roll through the tournament without a loss. With three kids in the Southwest region, the tournament came with great competitive spirits from teams fighting to make their trip to nationals easier. Even with fierce competition, UCSD won every game.

On the first day, UCSD had four games. The first game was against Los Angeles rivals, UCLA. Though UCSD had lost to UCLA in past seasons, they have yet to lose this season. UCSD continued this feat and beat UCLA 13-7. Next, they played against USC. The game was slightly less competitive and UCSD won the game 13-4. After that, they played against San Diego State and won with the score of 13-3. The last game of the day was against UC Irvine, and UCSD took the game 13-0.

The second day was semi finals and finals. UCSD faced the home team SLO for semis and took the game 13-8. In the finals, UCSD again faced UCLA again and took the game 13-6 to finish out an undefeated weekend.

Overall, the weekend was extremely successful for UCSD. Catch them at regionals in April 27-28 to find out if they are heading to nationals this year!
