League Round 2- B
The UC Slam Diego B team faced off against tough competition this weekend at the University of San Diego. The Tritons began their day by playing against Claremont McKenna College, suffering a tough loss in two. Being terminal on attacking was a significant issue for the Tritons this tournament, as well as being effective blockers. The Tritons then played against Azusa Pacific, a height gifted and strong blocking team, with perhaps the best middles in the gym. Coach Rob Tindula advocated strong serving, to keep the opponent middles out of play, and as a result the Tritons won in two handily. This match featured the debut of freshman Dylan Calvao, who finally recovered from a hip injury from his high school club season. The Tritons squared off against the UC Riverside Highlanders for the final game, but lost in three. We plan to continue to work hard in practice, as each tournament helps us identify areas of improvement.
