UCSD gold team traveled all the way to LA to play in the Claremont Tournament at Pomona College. The gold team went up against ASU- B and Claremont in three matches, clenching the win against both teams. UCSD-B played great defense with Steph as libero, Lexi as DS and Becca playing all around outside. Our serve receive did great against some tough servers and hitters faced some of the tallest middles we’ve seen. Paige stepped in as a right side, traditionally playing middle, and killed it with some great hits and a phenomenal block against Claremont. Janice switched to outside, traditionally a right-side, and had some great hits. Our other right-side, Jazz, got two good blocks and great swings in.  Our middles Demi and Lizzy got some good touches and kills on a huge block. Finally, our setters, Lynette and Nicole hustled and set up some great plays allowing our hitters to swing away and get the win. The gold team ended the weekend undefeated and moved up to number one in their division.
