South vs. Central Crossover

This weekend, your Lady Tritons brought out the brooms and swept all the opposition. Despite some facility administrative issues that prevented the matches from starting on time, everything rolled away excellently. The first match was a fierce revenge battle against the Matadors of Cal State Northridge. Having lost to them previously in the season, it was time to prove who the superior team was. The Tritons came out on top in two games, putting all of CSUN’s scrappiness to rest. The defense and serve receive during this game and throughout the rest of the day was superb, especially the work of San Diego’s very own Nicki Barooni. The next match was against Loyola-Marymount University. Once again, the Lady Tritons gave it to them good and finished them off in just two games. The last match of the day was against the Sun Devils themselves, Arizona State University. The Tritons came out with energy and fire that the Sun Devils could not withstand. The excitement and passion that pushed UCSD’s play over the top was just too much for Arizona State. The winner was of course the Tritons. All in all, the day was fairly easy and left many wondering where they might find better competition next.
