UCSD Falls In Their First Spring League Game
UCSD took on SDSU away from home for their first league game of the season. In an intense battle, UCSD went ahead on the scoreboard after Freshman Forward Eduardo Ramirez was tackled in the penalty box. At the penalty spot, Captain Luca Scotzniovsky calmly puts the ball in the net, giving the Tritons a 1-0 lead. As both teams battle, the game stays goalless until the second half, when SDSU took advantage of a counter attack, tying the game at 1-1. Within 10 minutes, SDSU scores again off another counterattack, giving them at 2-1 lead. Despite a hard-fought 90 minute game, the Tritons could not score more and the game finished 1-2, giving UCSD their first league loss in 3 seasons.
