Berkeley Swim-Run Race Report

So you have heard of Triathlon but have you heard of Duathlon? If you haven't, then prepare to have your mind blown. If you have, then still prepare because this weekend wasn't even a duathlon. Indeed, it was a SWIM RUN SWIM RUN. A thriller test of true multisport talent, mental toughness and social willingness to approach athletes from the Berkeley Triathlon Team.

The arrival of the Berkeley team at Canyon View Pool took us by no surprise at all, as it was organized by us. They happened to be in town for the weekend on a training camp, so it was only fate that brought the two teams together for a social race. Starting with 400 yard Swim in the pool, followed by a 2 mile run, only to hop back into the pool to repeat the 400 yard swim, and finish with the 2 mile run. Loads of fun, working hard, supporting our team mates, you know, everything you'd expect me to say in a race report.

But to finish the whole event off, we all met down at La Jolla Shores for a cute brunch between the two teams. And of course, you can't go to a social event without some super awkward ice breaker games, a huge group photo and a classic barefoot football game with shirts vs no shirts and shoes as goals. Honestly the whole event went really well. It almost made it look like we were having fun this weekend.
